Maryville,TN (July 14,2008)-We are now pleased to announce that the Advance Auto Parts Thunder Series will be sanctioning the Atomic Speedway Memorial on August 2, 2008. The race now will be a $4,000 to win instead of the $3,000 that was first announced. Due to scheduling conflicts with surrounding tracks and sanctioning bodies in the area this weekend July 19th, track owner Kevin Coffey has decided to not hold any super late model racing this weekend and will instead hold a $1,200 to win sportsman late model event with a $30 entry fee. Top 15 in points rule does not apply for this race, any car is eligable for the prize. Also the originally announced added purses for all the class will still be in affect. Pure Mini class will be running for added money also. The pit entry will be the normal $25 not $30. Sorry for any inconvenience that this has caused for any of the teams that was going to the be attending this race.

  FASTRAK @ The Mountain May 17th, 24th, 31st!
Posted by Mark Hankins on 5.17.2008 @ 10:00am
Mountain Raceway Park will host the FASTRAK late model weekly series for the next three weeks starting this Saturday May 17th. All FASTRAK competitors will be allowed to receive their weekly points toward the City Chevrolet National Weekly Championship.

"I'm excited about this opportunity" said Mountain Raceway Park Promoter Kevin Coffey. "FASTRAK held night two of their Grand Nationals here last year and to be honest with you I was surprised. It was some of the best late model racing I have ever seen. This will give our fans a 'taste' of the FASTRAK late models and some great racing".

After the three week period the FASTRAK late models will return to Bulls Gap TN when the Volunteer Speedway reopens.

In the interim period FASTRAK teams may go to Tazewell Speedway, Wythe Raceway or Mountain Raceway Park to earn their valuable weekly points.

"I appreciate Kevin working with us during this three week period stated Stan Lester of FASTRAK. "This gives teams three choices during this time with Tazewell, Wythe and now Mountain".

All three tracks utilize 100% FASTRAK rules including tires.

Statement regarding FASTRAK @ The Mountain
Posted by Mark Hankins on 5.14.2008 @ 12:29pm

Absolutely no disrespect to Mountain at all.

This announcement is premature at this time. I can see it taking easily two to three weeks before anything can happen.

Everyone is aware that if you run another brand of tire, the teams only get 50% of the proceeds from FASTRAK. Hoosier has agreed to pick up the balance. Of course contracts will have to be in place before hand. I know you guys expect me to pay you regardless if other companies pay us or not. My goal here is protect my teams. It may take a little time but I would much rather do it correct the first time.

There are not any issues with Gary Hall and Tazewell. He is well aware of whats going on. We would not do it any other way. Thats just how we do business.

Thanks you for your patience.

Action packed night of racing at the Mountain Raceway

Maryville,TN (May 12,2008)-With mother nature being nice to use this weekend and allowing us to get in an even is was of kick off the night was the Tennesee RV Sportsman divsion. They seen a familar face of Mark Rosner takeing yet another domitaning victory in the sportsman divsion. Rosner led every lap of the race which had a coupel of false starts that were charged to Mark Leech send him back ot the second row from his outside front row starting spot. Also in the race bad luck struck for Mark Dyer. About half way #18 of Mark Dyer an #99 of Cooper made contact sending Dyer flippin, once again this season, into turn one landing on top of the #28 car of Brandon Lyons. Dyer was able to exit his car on his own power. Greg Martin and Adam Beeler would round out the top 3.
